“How we can (and will) use genetics to improve cardiovascular health”

Dr. Knowles represented the FH Foundation when he gave an invited presentation entitled “How we can (and will) use genetics to improve cardiovascular health” at an international symposium held at Genome Quebec on February 13th, 2014 in partnership with the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie (a well known Canadian charity focused on improving health especially among youth). Among other things the presentation highlighted the key role genetics has played in identifying FH patients and enhancing the ability to pursue family-based “cascade” screening of family members. He also participated in a panel discussion with Dr. Jacques Genest (Professor and Chair in Medicine, McGill), another great friend of the FH Foundation and leader of Canadian efforts to build a national patient registry in Canada.
